My firewall
(Zonealarm), alerted
me of a “hacker”
attack the other
day. A new “Trojan”
program was trying
to take over my
machine. It got in
by way of a “picture
attachment” that my
daughter opened by
mistake. A “Trojan”
is a program that
operates behind the
scenes. Much like
the “daemon”
programs that
control your
computers “Clock”
and “System Tray”.
Do a “Search” for
“kernel32.dli”
(notice the last i),
on your computer.
There should be a
“kernel32.dll”
(notice the last l)
but not one with an
i on the end. Please
contact a
professional if you
find it. Do not try
and remove it
yourself unless you
are comfortable
working in
“registry’s”, and
“System Files”. The
person who has put
that file there was
probably not a real
hacker, just someone
using a hacker
program. You can
download the
“Firewall” Zonealarm
at www.zonelabs.com
. If you are already
using zonealarm than
make sure you get
the upgrade.
Many of you are
broadcasting your IP
address when you go
online. This will
allow a hacker to
get in your machine.
Zonealarm will block
hackers from seeing
that you are online.
If you are not sure
what any of the
terms I have been
using mean, try
looking under the
“index” section of
the “help” program.
